The project was Pro-Bono and ended in February 2025.

Identifying a market opportunity in Child Safety Training in Greece

Through market research, I identified a significant gap in Greece: no platforms offered child safety seminars tailored for parents, babysitters, educators, and security professionals.

This revealed an opportunity to create a solution that addressed key challenges:

  • Parents and caregivers lacked access to reliable training.

  • Busy schedules made attending in-person seminars difficult.

  • Professionals required specialized training, but existing options fell short.

How I combined research, UX design, development, and marketing to create a user friendly eShop for child safety education.s essential, together with a promotion plan for Social media organic search.

By understanding these challenges, I created a platform with flexible online and in-person seminars, making child safety education easy to access and suitable for everyone.

Starting with the logo

The logo for our child safety education platform features hands protecting a child, symbolizing care, security, and trust. The soft pink color was chosen to appeal to our primary audience, women, particularly mothers, and caregivers, with a touch of warmth, empathy, and protection.

Logo as a stamp

Designing the logo was a challenge because we wanted it to be exceptionally simple while retaining its powerful message.

It needed to work seamlessly in a single color to allow for versatile applications, including use as a stamp. Balancing simplicity with meaning, we created a design that is clear, impactful, and adaptable, ensuring it conveys safety and care in any format.

Wireframing the vision

The first step in building the webstore was to draft a clear plan on paper, mapping out the user journey and key elements of the website.

Using wireframes, we visualized the layout, structure, and functionality of the eShop to ensure an intuitive, user-friendly experience.

Building with Shopify, and challenges

After selecting Shopify as the platform, I chose a theme that aligned with the eShop’s vision and started adding content.

For more functionality, I integrated several apps, more than initially thought, to meet the platform's needs.

Launching in the Greek market added its own set of challenges, including adapting to local preferences, regulations, and user expectations.

Enhancing the experience with extras

To elevate the eShop’s functionality and user experience, we integrated additional apps. These included tools for creating a professional and engaging profile, an active calendar for scheduling seminars, and a subscription system to offer flexible payment options. These enhancements ensured a seamless and user-friendly experience tailored to our audience's needs.

Personalized Accounts for Enhanced Customer Experience

I chose CustomerHub, an innovative app from Australia, to elevate customer accounts on my Shopify store. CustomerHub offers a seamless way to create personalized, feature-rich accounts that enhance user experience and drive engagement.

  • Engagement Boost: Features like wishlists, loyalty programs, and custom forms make the shopping journey more interactive and memorable.

Seamless recurring memberships for Shopify

I integrated Simplee Memberships, a premium app for Shopify, to implement subscription-based memberships. This app provides robust functionality tailored to Shopify’s ecosystem, enabling me to offer recurring memberships with ease.

And it is easy to implement a subscription model directly through Shopify.

Why I Chose Simplee app

  • Custom Style: The storefront widget adapts beautifully to my store’s theme and colors.

  • Shopify Checkout Integration: Built specifically for Shopify, this app supports Shopify Payments, PayPal Express, and other gateways.

  • Member Portal: Customers can manage their subscriptions effortlessly, including updating products, and billing info, or pausing subscriptions, ensuring long-term retention.

Engaging event management for Shopify

To bring a dynamic edge to my e-commerce project, I incorporated the Mahina Event Calendar, a Shopify app designed for creating, customizing, and showcasing events. This app allows me to engage customers by linking events directly to products and collecting RSVPs effortlessly.

Why I Chose Mahina Event Calendar

  • Ticket Sales Integration: Connect products to events and sell them as tickets, simplifying the purchasing process for customers.

  • Customizable Design: The app’s look and language can be tailored to match my store’s branding, for a cohesive experience.

  • Streamlined RSVP Management: Collect RSVP information and send custom email responses to participants.

  • Intuitive UI: The user-friendly layout makes creating and managing events quick and simple.

Testing and feedback

Once the first draft of the eShop was ready, we shared it with 40 users via email for testing. Their feedback was invaluable in identifying areas for improvement.

I also followed up with some users directly to discuss their experience and refine the UX, ensuring the platform was intuitive and user-friendly.

Building the online present and community

Simple posts now, engaging videos, tips, and podcasts coming soon.

We’ve launched a Facebook page, Instagram profile, and a growing Facebook group to connect with our community. TikTok and YouTube will follow soon

Social Media Strategy: Simple and clear

Our social media is simple and easy to follow, with clear information and a pink color theme. Right now, we focus on sharing useful posts that catch attention.

In the future, we plan to add videos from classes, tips about child safety, and advice for parents. We’ll also include podcasts and press stories to share even more helpful content about keeping kids safe.
